This past week, I took a trip down to Dallas to visit my girlfriend’s family. It was my first time in Texas and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked it. Dallas is a great city with a lot going on and has some great places to take pictures. My girlfriend’s mother wanted pictures of her two daughters so we went to an area called Lakeside and had a fun shoot. I really like to have a good time during portrait sessions and you can see in the pictures that the girls were having fun as well. Lighting setup: A couple of these were taken with natural light but most were done with an off-camera Nikon SB-900 flash shot through an umbrella. I used the wireless TTL system from my D300 since I was shooting with a 50mm 1.8 lens and was close enough for the transmitter to work.

This last one obviously isn’t something you would frame but was so funny that it had to be shared. We couldn’t stop laughing after seeing it!
