Melyssa has been one of my good friends since freshman year of college and I was so happy when her and Bryan got engaged. We used to hang out all the time when we lived in the same apartment building. Bryan is a great guy who I have become friends with over the past year or so. The wedding is going to be in Orange County, California and I am so excited to attend. Melyssa called me a few weeks ago to see if I was available to take some engagement portraits for them to use on their save the dates. We chose to go down to LoDo in Denver near Coors Field and play around until the sun went down. I always wonder what people whisper when I tell them to say something dirty… 😉

Love this solo portrait of Bryan.

There were some great colors in the trees next to Coors Field and I just had Melyssa and Bryan walk away from me.

This image is definitely representative of the personality of these two. Spend a little time with them and you know they can be goofy and fun together.

As I was looking through my photographs from the session, I noticed this one with the car going by in the background and was drawn to it. There is something about it that makes me feel like they don’t care who’s watching them cuddle in the middle of downtown Denver.

You know Bryan has some acting skill when he’s looking like he doesn’t care that this beautiful girl is kissing him. 😉

We took a stop into The Cruise Room at the Oxford Hotel and played around with a little bit of a stylized portrait. This place has such a cool old school feel that I wanted to do something that felt more ‘cinematic’ like something out of an old movie. I had my assistant hold an LED video light to provide some dramatic lighting and told Bryan and Melyssa where to look while adopting a serious expression. Definitely created a different image.

I’m happy Melyssa trusted me to suspend her gorgeous ring over a martini. 😀

This was the last portrait of the night and I love the way the lights on Larimer Street create a nice leading line to the happy couple. Congrats you guys! Can’t wait for the wedding!
