Philippa and Ryan | Denver Mile High Station Wedding Celebration Photography

Some couples just make you so excited to photograph them that you get more anxious than usual for their wedding day to come and Philippa and Ryan were one such couple.  You may recognize them from their engagement portrait session at Strings Restaurant and from Philippa’s boudoir portraits.   These are the type of people that I live to photograph because they get just as excited about seeing their images as I do and that is one of the driving forces behind why I do what I do.  They are so fun to work with because their love shows so naturally and easily.  They constantly tease each other in a fun way that shows how much personality they have as a couple and I captured this with the camera as much as possible.  Philippa and Ryan were officially married in June in a picturesque castle in Scotland in an homage to Philippa’s family heritage and a past family wedding there.  They actually gave me one of the nicest compliments I have ever received and said they wish they had flown me out there to photograph the wedding and would like to do a recreation during a future anniversary.  Because only a handful of family member and friends could make the trip to Scotland, they had a second wedding celebration with everyone back here in Denver and this is the event seen below.

  1. Getting Ready Venue: Hotel Teatro

  2. DJ: DJ Guy

  3. Cake Artist: Intricate Icings

Philippa’s dress was a classic strapless design with a nod to her Scottish heritage with the trim.

Just in case anyone forgot who the bride was while getting ready. 😀

Ryan’s tie paired perfectly with the trim in Philippa’s dress.

Such a breathtakingly gorgeous bride!  The light was beautiful in the room at the Hotel Teatro.

Ryan’s best man worked hard to get his shirt cuffs buttoned, as any respectable best man would. 🙂

All I had to do to get great reactions out of Philippa and Ryan was put them in great light and let them be themselves.

This image was taken out on the catwalk of the hotel.

A little last minute lip gloss application.

Philippa showed off her modeling skills as we waited for their shuttle to come.

Ryan with his father Kevin (owner of the incredible Restaurant Kevin Taylor) and his best man.

There was this awesome, colorful wall about a 5 minute walk from Mile High Station and we took a little trip over there for some more portraits before the guests arrived.  I love this image of them walking.

This wall was such a fun backdrop to play on!

The centerpieces were beautiful and each table was named after a different Scottish castle.  I loved Philippa’s purple and green color scheme and the colors tied everything together perfectly.

I created a guest sign-in book using the photographs from their engagement portrait session and it was filled with loving words throughout the night.  My sign-in books are bound to a classy linen cover and are printed on a heavy watercolor paper that is perfect for pens and markers.  They make the ideal keepsake to go with your engagement portrait session.

This was a crowd that likes to party and the dancing lasted well into the night.

Philippa changed into a super fun and cute burlesque dress for the latter part of the evening to let loose and party in.  So fitting for her personality!

Thank you to Philippa and Ryan for being such an amazing couple to work with!  Let them know what you think of their photographs in the comments.
